Meet Alex - Doula & Hypnobirth Educator
Hi, I’m Alex!
A little bit about me… I’m a mom of three kids, ages 7, 4, and 2.
I was born and raised in South Jersey, currently residing in Haddon Township. I first felt called to doula work after the birth of my second child in 2018. Having had a doula of my own, I truly understood the significance of the support a doula provides. It became clear to me that this was what I am meant to do for others. I’m CAPPA trained as a labor doula and am certified through ABI as a labor and postpartum doula.
I am also a HypnoBirthing childbirth educator. In addition to those certifications, I have attended many trainings since becoming a birthworker including, Lamaze Childbirth Educator Training, Spinning Babies, Creating Space: biomechanics of the pelvis; fetal positioning , and use of the rebozo, and Postpartum Support International: Understanding Perinatal Anxiety and Mood Disorders. I am very passionate about women’s health and am always looking for ways to continue my education within this field.
I have had a long-time love and fascination with all things pregnancy and childbirth, with a former career working in visual merchandising for “Motherhood” and “A Pea in the Pod” brands at Destination Maternity’s Corporate office.
I would describe my doula style as unbiased and individualized, providing evidence-based information to support families to help them achieve a positive and empowering birth experience — whatever that might look like for them. I believe that birth is the most transformational experience one can go through in life, and feel it is such an honor when families invite me to be a part of their journey.
Aside from birth work, I can be found with my husband Earl, working on renovating our house in Haddon Township, spending time with our kids and our two dogs, occasionally camping and road tripping, and living in blissful chaos!
